Between the Distance

In their debut album, VOXIE blends the bell tones of the Celtic harp with the warmth of the human voice into a collection of authentic and enchanting songs from Ireland and Scotland. Singer Lara Brooksbank and harper Abigail Kent are dedicated to the Irish and Scottish music traditions. A national harp champion on the Scottish harp, Abigail includes a few tracks of instrumental sets.

Under an Indigo Sky

Edward Hart’s UNDER AN INDIGO SKY features A Charleston Concerto and Under an Indigo Sky, two concertos that celebrate and interrogate the history and culture of the Southeastern United States. A native of Charleston SC, Hart finds inspiration in the natural beauty and multicultural heritage of his homeland. A Charleston Concerto was written to commemorate the 350th Anniversary of the City of Charleston; it features a collaboration with the Charleston Symphony and the world-renowned Harlem Quartet. It takes an unflinching yet ultimately hopeful view of the city’s complex history over those three and a half centuries. Under an Indigo Sky for violin and orchestra is a musical love letter written to Hart’s geographical home. It explores both the physical splendor of the mountains and coast, but also the feel and “soul” of these breathtaking places.

Pathways to Healing - Musical Medicine for Mind, Body, and Spirit

As a universal expression of human emotion, music has an innate power to soothe and heal the listener. On PATHWAYS TO HEALING, the Taylor Festival Choir and conductor Rob Taylor present a program of poignant choral music that represents different facets of the healing process. Inspired by Taylor’s wife’s decade-long battle with cancer, the project seeks to harness the transformative power of music to foster healing and well-being, providing a potent medicine to ease the struggles of those facing physical or emotional challenges.

This album is part of the Taylor Music Group’s larger “Pathways to Healing” initiative, a project with a scope ranging from in-person performances at medical facilities to inspirational music videos for patients and a multi-state concert tour.

So Hallow’d the Time

This release—the Taylor Festival Choir’s second album for Delos—features original Christmas works by two distinguished American composers: Brian Galante, whose choral works and arrangements have met with worldwide acclaim; and the late, great Stephen Paulus, whose many choral and orchestral compositions have been performed by America’s leading choirs and orchestras. The two multi-movement works presented in this album — Galante’s So Hallow’d the Time and Paulus’s Christmas Dances — are heard here in world premiere recordings.
Based in Charleston, SC, the Taylor Festival Choir (Robert Taylor, founder and conductor) has gained international recognition since its inception in 2001 as one of America’s finest professional choral ensembles; and proudly claims Brian Galante as its regular Composer-in-Residence. They deliver truly transcendental performances in this lovely recording.
